Funeral services for Wilma V. Dixon, 79, of Davenport, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Mrs. Dixon died on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.Wilma Valee Capps was born on November 13, 1932 in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Bertie and Blanche (Mullenix) Capps. She married Glenn F. Dixon on March 19, 1955 in Unionville, MO. In earlier years she worked at the Crescent Laundry Company in Davenport and then after the boys were born, became a housewife and stay at home Mom. She loved to sew, enjoyed cooking and canning, flower gardening, and was a long time active member of the Northpark Church Of God in Davenport.Surviving members of the family include – her Husband: Glenn; 2 Sons: Tim (Kippy) Dixon of Bettendorf, and Dean Dixon of North Liberty, IA; and 2 Grandsons: Chandler and Quentin.She was preceded in death by her parents, a half Sister: Vera Dean, and a half Brother: Junior Capps.Memorials may be made to the church.
