Funeral services will be Friday, May 26, 2023 at 2 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. His final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Bill was born in Blue Island, Illinois of March 30, 1934. He was the son of Richard and Helen (Schlueter) Gravenstuk. After his father passed away, he was adopted and raised by Claus Lemburg and his mother Helen. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Betty Speth on November 7, 1954 in Davenport. She preceded him in death in August 1994.
He worked as a carpenter prior to retiring for several area businesses including: Wendell Cox Construction and R.E. Kern’s & Sons. He was a member of the Carpenter Local Union #4 for 36 years. He had also been a member of the Moose Lodge, Plus 60 Club, CASI and the Davenport American Legion Post #26. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He also loved country music and travelling to Nashville.
Those left to honor his memory include his children: Kevin Lemburg, Bettendorf and Cheryl (Dennis) Timmerman, Davenport, grandchildren: Stefanie (Clark) Miljush, Moline and Katy (Don) Harder, Davenport, great grandchildren: Mira Harder, Hannah and Charlie Miljush and two more on the way, sister, Catherine (Frank) Paaske, Davenport, daughter-in-law, Renee Lemburg, Moline and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by daughter, Karen and sons, Randall and Keith.
