Timothy Robert Burke, Davenport, passed away on March 29, 2023 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House after a three-and-a-half year battle with glioblastoma. A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 3 p.m. at Weerts Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 4 p.m. A private family burial will occur Thursday.
Tim was born September 13, 1960 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He married his lifelong love, Susan Renfro, on June 20, 1981. The two were inseparable until his passing.
Tim was a loving father and grandfather to his three children and nine grandchildren. He delighted in the chaos of having them all together, especially to watch his Green Bay Packers play.
Tim worked 39 years for Genesis Health System, first as a biomed technician and later manager. He cared deeply for his work, instilling a strong work ethic in his children.
Tim was a talented handyman, craftsman, and a regular at Menards. He was once mistaken for an employee but helped the customer anyway because he knew where everything was.
Tim had a wicked sense of humor and loved to laugh, even in his final days. He had a way of laughing at the smallest jokes like they were the funniest thing in the world. He enjoyed traveling with Sue, especially to Maui and Marco Island, coming home with hundreds of sunset photos and seashells.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 41 years, Sue; children Dan (Cindy), Amy Zank (Wade Watson) and Melissa (Clint) Miller; grandchildren David, Eva, Rachel, and William Burke, Claire and Carson Zank, and Mayella, Hana, and Daphne Miller; siblings Tracy (Jack) McNealey, Sue Peppers, Tom (Teresa), Jim (Sharon), and Andy (Peggy) Burke; sister-in-law Lori (Jerry) Bippus; close friends Kathy and Jeff Ward, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
