Ruth Anne Potts, 71, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Clarissa C Cook Hospice House with her family by her side. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 19, 2021 from 10-11am at Weerts Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 11:30am at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials in Ruth’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities.
Ruth was born on November 3, 1949 to Dale and Mary Lou Brown in Canton, Illinois. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and went on to be an accountant with Kone; she retired in 2015. Ruth was united in marriage to Bruce Potts in June of 1971 in Canton, Illinois; they later divorced. She loved being able to spend time outside, whether it was gardening, biking, kayaking, or going for walks; she also loved to make quilts and donated them to those in need. Ruth also loved to volunteer at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Her greatest joy however was being there for her grandsons as they grew up. She was also an active member at Grace Lutheran Church in Davenport.
Those left to honor her memory are her children Kristin (Donavon) Hardesty, Steven (Debra) Potts, and Andrew Potts; grandchildren Kendall and Keagan (Sarah) Rigg and Xavier and Landon Potts; her brother Bill (Jeanette) Brown; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
