Roger was born June 13, 1941 in Davenport, IA to Fredrick & Virginia (Creech) Russell. Roger had been employed as a meat cutter working at Mattiesen’s in DeWitt, IA and later Kraft in Davenport from where he retired in 2003.
Roger enjoyed college football, was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, and earlier in life had enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Though gruff at times, he had his own unique way of showing his love for family and friends.
Survivors include a son Brian Russell, Davenport; 2 grandchildren Nathaniel & William Harper; Brother David Russell; sister Judy Shelton; and several nieces & nephews.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents.
