Robert Walter Parr

Robert W. Parr, 88, of Davenport passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 17, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at the mortuary. Burial, with military honors, will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Robert was born on February 9, 1929 in Davenport, a son of Clyde and Leona Milan. He served in the U.S. Navy for twenty years and later was employed by Red Jacket for twenty years. On October 14, 1995 he married Ruth Ann Schmidt in Davenport.

He was a member of Bettendorf VFW Post 9128. His hobbies included fishing, boating with his family, and golfing. He loved his dog, Pal.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann; children and spouses: Terry and Mark, Robert R., Dawn, Richard and Lisa; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, five nieces and nephews, one sister, MaryAnn and her husband, Dave.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Nancy, and brother, Charles.
