Ricky Darnell Miles

Ricky Darnell Miles, 65, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024 in Davenport. A celebration of his life will be Saturday, September 28th at 11 am at The Third Missionary Baptist Church in Davenport. Visitation will be one hour prior to the celebration, at the church.

Ricky was born Rock Island on December 31, 1958. He was the son of Herman and Dorothy (Dixon) Miles. He started his career in the early 1980’s at John Deere where he was a member of the UAW. He also owned and operated the Midnight Star Bar towards the later 1980’s. He worked several years at Oscar Mayer and was a security guard for the “Happy Hollow” before his retirement. In his free time, he loved to fish, play pool with his uncle, Robert “Pooh” Dixon, bowl and watch football, especially the New England Patriots.

He married Carolyn Ingold on September 5, 1995 in Davenport. She preceded him in death on February 8, 2015.

Those left to celebrate his life are his children: Katrina Davis, Warner Robins, GA, Deanna Lampkin, Pensacola, FL, Kristine Haines, Cape Coral, FL and Kristopher Hansen, Davenport; his mother, Dorothy Miles, Columbia, MO; siblings: Calvin Miles, Columbia, MO, Rodney Derrick, Dallas, TX, Deborah Hudson, Davenport, IA and Cheryl Miles, Columbia, MO and Vernae Wright, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren: Chelsea Bowman, Porsche Johnson, Leroy Grandberry Jr., Kalynn Hansen, Kylee Hansen, Nickea Lampkin all of Davenport and Kencade Godfrey, Cape Coral, FL; several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father and his wife, Ricky was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony “Tony” Miles and sister, Janae Miles-Wright
