Michael Hugh Smith

Michael “Mikey” H. Smith, 54, of Davenport, Iowa passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, December 16, 2022. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 10am at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 5 – 8pm at Weerts Funeral Home. Memorials in Mike’s name may be made to King’s Harvest Animal Rescue. Mike’s family asks that those in attendance wear their Minnesota Vikings, Iowa Hawkeyes, or St. Louis Cardinals gear.

Mike was born on June 29, 1968 to Dennis and Sally Smith in Davenport, Iowa. Following high school, Mike worked as a CNC Machinist and then as a cook at the Hawkeye Tap for many years. He was the biggest Minnesota Vikings, Iowa Hawkeyes, and St. Louis Cardinals fan out there. Mike had the greatest sense of humor and was able to make anyone laugh. If anyone needed a helping hand, Mike was there for them. Family was very important to Mike and looked forward to family events.

Mike is survived by his brother Douglas (Mary) Smith, sister Rebecca (Randy) Rosenthal; many nieces and nephews; best friends Kevin Negus, Dale Gonzales, and Darrell Seifert; and his beloved dog Willow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Kimery Smith, Jessie Richards, and Dennis “Skip” Smith, Jr.
