Michael L. Myers, 40, of Eldridge passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House after a 14 month battle with three aggressive forms of cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 25, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday at the mortuary. Mike was born February 12, 1977 in Davenport to Bill and Catherine Myers. He graduated from North Scott High School; then he pursued a welding degree at Scott Community College and was employed at John Deere Harvester Works and John Deere Dubuque Works. Later he worked at Alcoa for a short time prior to his illness.
Mike had a love for motorcycles and target shooting. He really enjoyed riding his Harley with his friends. He had a love of life and lived life on his own terms. His sense of humor will be truly be missed.
He was able to accomplish a few things on his bucket list prior to his death. His cousins from Missouri treated him to a trip to Florida so he could soak up some sun on the beach. His Aunt Patty got VIP tickets to an Alan Jackson concert September 9, in Cedar Rapids that he really enjoyed.
Those left to honor his memory include his mom, Catherine Myers, Eldridge; father, Bill (Anne) Myers, Long Grove; brothers, Dan (Sue) Myers, Bettendorf, and Brian Myers, Davenport; grandmother, Beverly Myers and many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friend, Pastor Bruce Porter and Brian Bauer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Peter and Janis Dreesen and Earl Myers.
