Mary Lou Townsley

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 16, from 1-3 pm at the Friendly House, 1221 Myrtle Street, Davenport, IA, 52804.

Mary was born to Kenneth and Roberta (Haussmann) Hauschild on December 1, 1957 in Davenport, IA. She married Dennis Townsley in 1977 and they had 2 children, Randy and Heidi, later getting divorced but they stayed friends. Mary worked at the Friendly House as a janitor for many years.

Mary loved going to family and friends events. Her pride and joy was her children, grandchildren, Heidi’s dogs, Bruiser, Lil Foot and Boxer, and the bearded dragon, Speedy. In Mary’s eyes everyone was family and she would do anything to help a person out. Over the years she adopted many families: the Milem boys, the Medranos, the Blakes, Mizer/Halls, the Nunezes and the Buxbaums.

Those left to carry on Mary’s memories are her son, Randy; daughter, Heidi (Matt); step-daughter, Sam (Don); grandsons, Dalton and Malakia; nephew, Tom and his family; special friend, Kathy; sister-in-law, Sandy (Raymond); brothers-in-law, Mike (Jojo), Rick (Claudia and Rodger (Mona); 2 aunts; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and her guinea pigs.

Mary was called home by her parents; grandparents; brother, Steve; step-grandson, Josh; childhood friend, Ann; and friends, Dennis, Mary and Jim.
