Mary Patricia Haase, 87, of Davenport passed away at Good Samaritan Nursing Home on Feb. 2, 2011. Visitation will be held at The Runge Mortuary on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Davenport Good Samaritan Nursing Home Memory Care Unit or Genesis Hospice. Mary Pat was born on June 10, 1923 in West Liberty, Iowa, the daughter of George and Catherine (White) Scott. She graduated from the American Institute of Commerce in Davenport and then worked as a secretary during WWII at the Ordnance Steel/JI Case Company. She married Elmer Louis Haase on November 27, 1947. She worked as a secretary for the Davenport School District from 1969 to 1986. She volunteered for 20 years at Genesis Hospital and the Public Library.
Mary Pat was an excellent baker and cook. She loved reading, flower gardening, music, bird watching, ice cream, and spending time with those she loved.
Those left to honor her memory include her loving husband, Elmer, sons Robert and John (Mari), Davenport, Randy (Mary), Princeton, NJ; daughter Suzanne (Roger) Warner, Chicago; grandchildren Jonathan (Anne Marie) Warner, Kalamazoo, MI, Jason (Beth) Warner, St. Louis, Catherine (Jordan) Short, Chicago, Adelaide, Olivia, and Julianna Haase, NJ, great granddaughters Holly and Laura Warner, MI, and sisters-in-law Mardell Paustian, Pat Scott, and Jean Scott. She was preceded in death by her brothers Harold and Don Scott.
