Marcia Ann Glover, 75, died October 14, 2024, at Harmony Utica Ridge Nursing Home in Davenport, IA following an extended illness. A private family graveside service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery in Wheatland, IA.
Marcia Glover was born in Anamosa, IA, February 1, 1949 to Marvin and Opal Glover. She grew up in Toronto, IA and attended the Toronto school, Wheatland High School (class of 1967), and later graduated from Maquoketa High School.
Marcia worked for many years as a waitress at the I-80 Truckstop in Walcott, IA and was co-owner of John & Marcia's Place in Wheatland, and later worked for The Runge Mortuary in Davenport. During her career Marcia also spent some time in the Washington DC area and Florida before eventually returning to her Midwest roots and family.
She loved singing, fishing, cooking, her cats, and her family. Marcia was proud of maintaining her sobriety for several decades and actively supported others in dealing with substance abuse.
Survivors include her daughter, Lori (Trent) Dalton of Pleasant View, UT and sisters Mary (Ron) Pettifer of DeWitt, IA, and Marla (Dannie) Bell of Chatsworth, GA, Grandchildren Erin & Adam Kirkpatrick, Caleb (Madie) & Katie Roethler, Sam & Ben Dalton, and 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Michael Schanze,and her daughter Lisa VanDorn.
