Kevin Darryl Brown, 67, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on December 13, 2024, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice. Kevin was born on August 12, 1957 to Ruth and Harry Brown of Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1975 and went on to join the Marine Corps Reserves. Kevin spent the majority of his working career at the Rock Island Arsenal, proudly working as a mechanic. Kevin was united in marriage with Lynn Glover on May 13, 1978. They shared 46 years, and he was always quick to say “I love you” to her. Together they raised three children, instilling in them a deep sense of integrity, hard work, and love. He enjoyed teaching his children how to maintain their vehicles and make repairs around the house, passing down valuable skills.Though Kevin loved to wrench on vehicles and work on all sorts of outdoor projects, perhaps his favorite activity was being around his eight grandchildren. He cherished his time with them and always made sure they had something with wheels to ride on.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lynn; siblings, Tom (Sandy) Brown, Davenport, Sandra Henderson, Davenport, Jolene (Ray) Foy, Wilcox, Arizona, Monte (Lori) Brown, Davenport, and Mark (Kathy) Brown, Davenport; children, Ray (Andrea) Brown, Adam (Lori) Brown, and Lori (Drew) Blocker, all of Davenport; grandchildren, Landon Brown, Collin Brown, Kendall Brown, Sean Brown, Elise Brown, Nathaniel Brown, Henry Blocker, and Sullivan Blocker; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Pam Pendleton and Ruth Ann Schadt; and brother, Richard Brown.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Weerts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3834 Rockingham Road, Davenport. There will be a visitation held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be left to Empower House or Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa.
