John was born on October 27, 1957 in Davenport, IA to William and Gladys (Delesha) Kuster. He was a 1977 graduate of Durant High School and excelled in wrestling, qualifying for state level competitions. John was a professional welder/pipefitter for Local 25, Rock Island, IL.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Nicole Gaither and Major Ben Kuster USAF, four brothers, two sisters and six grandchildren.
