Memorial services for Joan Helen Picht, 83, of Davenport, will be 11:00 am on Thursday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Thursday from 10:00 am to service time at the MortuaryJoan passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Country Manor, Davenport.Cunnick-Collins Mortuary is assisting family with arrangements.Joan Helen Picht was born on January 3, 1931 in Goshen, Indiana, the daughter of Arthur and Elsie (Winterhoff) Beck. She married James Picht in 1958 in Davenport. She attended Ball State University where she received her B.A., she then attended the University of Iowa where she received her Master’s degree in Physical Education. Joan taught P.E. at Williams Junior High School for several years. Joan was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women; She was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church, Davenport. Joan was a member of Ball State Alumni Association, University of Iowa Alumni Association and Delta Zeta Sorority. Survivors include her husband, James of Davenport, daughter; Rev. Linda (Rev. Ron) Myers of Anchorage, Alaska, son; David Arthur Picht of Davenport, 2 grandchildren, Rachel and Rebekkah, both of Alaska and a brother; Frederick Beck of Richardson, TX.She was preceded in death by her parents.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Country Manor, Davenport.Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.Cunnick-Collins.com.
