Jerry Roberts

Jerry Lee Roberts, 89 of Davenport, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Linn Manor Care Center in Marion, Iowa. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 at 10:00 am at Weerts Funeral Home, with Pastor David Upchurch officiating, located at Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Roads.

Jerry was born in 1933, son of Johnnie and Twila Roberts in Chariton, Iowa. Jerry married Phyllis Bonnett on August 12, 1950. Jerry worked at Brammer Manufacturing in Davenport from 1950-1969 and then continued his work at Caterpillar until retirement. Jerry was an avid bass fisherman, he also enjoyed hunting and outdoor gardening. He was a master woodcraftsman and owned/operated Thumber Tackle Company; as well as a boat cover business.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughters Katherine (Greg) Vanosdell, Good Year, AZ and Karen Schroeder, Denver, CO; 8 grandchildren: Brandon, Aaron, Adam, and Nolan Schroeder; Nathan, Natalie, and Nicole Vanosdell and Elicia Wulf; sister, Sherri Cupit; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis Roberts; son, Don Roberts; and his siblings, Joyce Pfrimmer, Barbara Cain, Beverly Thompson, Linda Isom, Patricia West, Larry Roberts, Donald Roberts, Gary Roberts, Jimmy Roberts, and Terry Roberts.
