Memorial services for Harold J. Essex, 70, of Davenport will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19th at New Life Baptist Church, 7780 W. Locust St., Davenport. Harold passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. Mary Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Davenport. Cunnick-Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Harold James Essex was born on March 25, 1947 in Iowa City, IA, the son of Francis and Alice (Ricter) Essex. He liked being outdoors, whether it be fishing or enjoying a family picnic. Harold was also an avid sports fan, including NASCAR. He is survived by his Children: Michelle (Tony) Lueders, Dylon Early, and John Essex, all of Davenport; Siblings: Erna (LeRoy) Farnsworth and Gordan Essex, all of Davenport; Special Granddaughter: Khloe “Oie” Lueders; Special Friend: Jim Farrell of Davenport; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenny Essex and Rick Davis.
