George I. Strout

George I. Strout, 79, of Davenport passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Visitation will be held at 1:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Runge Mortuary. Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. George was born on May 2, 1938 in Marion, Iowa to Harold and Flaudia (Bell) Strout. He was united in marriage to Hilda Oro on April 17, 1996 in Davenport, Iowa. George was a hardworking man and worked for Alcoa for many years before retiring. In his spare time he loved to travel and see many different things. In his younger years he enjoyed riding his motorcycle around. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Hilda Strout; children: Steven Strout, Debbie Smith, Donna (Terel) Hoffner; step-children, Heidi (Shane) Marshall, and George Serdes; grandchildren: Brayden and Mike Smith, Katie, Nicole, Austin, and Dalton Hoffner, Ty and Brandt Marshall; many great grandchildren; sister, Edna Griffith; and sister-in-law, Jane Strout; nephews: David Strout and Tony Griffith. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Warren, and Bill.
