Fumi I. Butler, 97, formerly of Davenport; passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Hearthstone Cottages in Pella, Iowa. Funeral services to honor her memory will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024 at 2pm at Weerts Funeral Home; visitation will be before the service starting at 1pm. Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport following the service.
Fumi was born on May 16, 1927 in Kyoto City, Japan to Gosuk and Haru Yokota. She was united in marriage to Boyce Butler on December 16, 1972 in Hayward, California; Boyce passed away in 2007. Fumi and Boyce moved to Davenport in 1975 when Boyce was transferred to Rock Island, Illinois for work. Fumi worked at Elegant Drapery Co. as a supervisor in Hayward, California from 1960 – 1975. After moving to Davenport, Fumi owned and operated Fumi Drapery.
Those left to honor her memory are her step daughter Susanne Smith, step son Boyce Butler, Jr., several step grandchildren; and a younger brother in Japan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Boyce, parents, and a brother.
