It’s hard to put into words just how much you meant to me and how deeply I will miss you. You were such a special part of my life, and your love and care shaped so many of my memories, especially from when I was little. 
I can still vividly remember our countless trips to the donut shop, you with your croissant and black coffee & me with my chocolate sprinkled donut and  that one specific McDonald's with the bike trail beside it! Again you with your coffee & me with my happy meal. You always knew how to make the simplest things feel magical. Shopping with you was always an adventure! You had to get your walk in but always had to stop in JCPenney, and no matter where we went, I always felt so special just being by your side. 
I think of how I used to help you cook, even though I probably got in the way more than anything else. You never minded, though. You let me be part of your world, whether it was dipping my little fingers in your masa or just sitting beside you while you watched your TV shows(even though I didn’t understand a single word since it was always on the Spanish channel, but I listened like I did) I loved just being with you. 
I moved away to Tennessee around age 11 and as I grew up and started building my own family later in life you still managed to be there, always ready to help out when you came to visit in Tennessee almost yearly! It didn’t matter how much I wanted you to relax—you insisted on cooking and cleaning for us( she’d go as far as folding our underwear somethings I’ll never forget! Standing in the kitchen ironing your soul away) just as you always had. That was who you were always giving, always showing love in the ways you knew best! And that was cooking! Cleaning & always insisting on buying my dang cleaning supplies because it was specific supplies & of course always having to fight with you that you aren’t paying for the meals.
Grandma you  were truly one of a kind, and the memories we made together are treasures I’ll carry with me.
