Dr. Dennis Lee Luebbe

Dr. Dennis Lee Luebbe, 72, of Taylor Ridge, IL died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 10:30 am at Risen Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 pm at Runge Mortuary in Davenport, IA. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family or to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Island Building Fund.

Dennis was born January 1, 1938 in Seward, NE, the son of William and Anna (Schmersal) Luebbe. He was united in marriage to Dorothy J. Kruckenberg in September 1960 in Davenport. Dennis was a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1963 and eventually opened his own office, Luebbe Chiropractic Center in Moline, IL, retiring in 2003. He also farmed many years on his family farm in Taylor Ridge, IL. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, singing and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Island, IL. He served in the National Guard for eight years.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of forty nine years, Dorothy, Taylor Ridge, IL; sons: Thomas William (Brenda) Luebbe, Illinois City, IL, Craig Allan Luebbe, Taylor Ridge, Brian Keith (Stacy Lynn) Luebbe, Illinois City, daughters: Rhonda Jean (Michael) Whitney, Taylor Ridge, Brenda Lee (Scott) Lloyd, Reynolds, IL, Leslie Ann (Steven) McCoy, Davenport and Lori Lynn (Thomas) Nipper, Seaton, IL; grandchildren: Scott, Lance, Jacob, Rebekah (Jason Martin), Brandon, Cody, Chase, Taylor, Rylee, Justin, Breann and Nathaniel, one great granddaughter, Brooklyn; brothers: Norman (Naomi) Luebbe, Seward, NE, Dwayne (Marilyn) Luebbe, Davenport, Ronald (Cheryl) Luebbe, York, NE, sisters: Elaine (Ralph) Luethke, Seward, NE, Miriam (Lyle) Ostermeier, Rising City, NE, Arlene (Ted) Luebbe, Fairbury, NE and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, brother, Marvin and several nieces and nephews preceded him in death.
