Dennis M. Fisher, 64, of LeClaire, IA passed away July 18, 2017 at home. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life service will be held August 19, 2017 at the LeClaire fire station from 11 am until 12 noon. A luncheon will follow. Memorials may be made to the family. Dennis was born May 17, 1953 in Ottumwa, IA to Gilbert and Gean (McSparen) Fisher. Dennis graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1971. He then attended Cornell College earning a B.S. degree. Dennis married the love of his life, Marcia Fisher on September 14, 1996 in Galena, IL. She preceded him in death in July 2007. Dennis was a retired golf management professional, a career he truly loved.
Dennis enjoyed golf. He was a phenomenal chef and loved to cook for friends and family. Dennis had a huge love for people and animals. He will be remembered for his generous nature. When Dennis moved to LeClaire to be closer to his family, he was embraced by the community and his family of friends had expanded. He enjoyed volunteering at the LeClaire Information Center, forming bonds with local shop owners as well as numerous volunteers. He was a member of the Delta Phi Rho fraternity, in which he was blessed with unending friendships of a core group of men, (The Generals) that has lasted more than 40 years. Dennis was the inspiration and mastermind behind the QC MS Open: Swinging Fore a Cure. This is an annual event that raises money for the National MS Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Ashley; sister, Vicki (Ron) Drish, Clinton; nephews, Derek (Tracy) Drish, Montana; Jeremy (Becky) Drish, Davenport; four great nephews; one great niece; numerous cousins; his loving dog, MS. Sylvie and The Generals.
He was preceded by his parents and wife.
