She was the proud mother of two children, three grandchildren, and wife of Verl Buchanan, who had been married 53 years.
A memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Davenport, IA. Memorials may be made in her honor to JDRF, Quilts of Valor Foundation, or St. John’s United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.
Deborah was born December 9, 1950 to John and Joan (Richardson) Beck in Princeton, IN. On June 21, 1969 she was united in marriage to Verl Buchanan. She had worked in several positions throughout the years, most recently as a fabric sales rep for Michael Miller Fabrics.
Deborah was an accomplished quilter, making quilts for many -charitable organizations. She was a member of the Rather-Bees, Champaign, IL, and Golden Bobbins, Davenport, IA.
She is survived by her husband, Verl; son, Tim (Robin Stehle) Buchanan of Denver, CO, and daughter, Jonnikka (Andy) Karrer; grandsons, Tyler, Connor, and Grayson; sisters, Becky (Ed) Bennett of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Jill (Jack) Bradshaw of Carmi, IL; brother, John (Joan) Michael Beck of Toledo, IL; and brother-in-law, Berlyn Buchanan of Lawrenceville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
