Cody M. Fry

Cody Michael Fry, 23, of Davenport, passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Letts Cemetery, Letts, IA. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.

Cody was born February 19, 1992 in Davenport, the son of Sheldon Fry and Sharon (Mathias) Ponce. He graduated from West High School in 2010. He greatly enjoyed Anime, having attended many conventions and the Japanese culture. He loved music, especially country, Rob Zombie, Linken Park and Dubstep. He also enjoyed going out to the shooting range to pop off a few rounds with his father and step father.

His greatest joy was traveling all over the country with his dad in his father’s semi. He loved going to Seaworld. Cody was such a strong person throughout his illness and was always there for others.

Those left to honor his memory include his parents: Sheldon (Brenda) Fry and Sharon (Ray) Ponce; sister, Ashley Fry; half-siblings: Andrew and Jonah Thompson; Crystal Ponce and William, Jeremy and Allysa Waller; grandmother, Mary Mathias, step-grandmother, Minnie Laymon, many aunts, uncles, and cousins from both sides of the famly, and best friend Jacob Bonnell.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Elaine Fry, maternal grandfather, David Mathias, paternal step-grandfather, Russell Laymon, and maternal great grandmother, Dorothy Fry.
