Arlene Elizabeth Eickstaedt

Funeral services will be held at the Runge Mortuary on Monday, April 17, at 12pm. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Rock Island Arsenal, National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com.

Arlene was born August 14, 1930, in Charlotte, IA, to Herman and Christina Rickertsen. She was the youngest of 13 children. She was united in marriage to Raymond Eickstaedt on May 28, 1950, in Charlotte, IA. They enjoyed 71 years of marriage until his passing in 2021.

She enjoyed baking, playing dominos, Bingo and spending time with family. Arlene and Ray loved camping and traveling, spending their winters in Arizona.

Those left to cherish Arlene’s memory are son, Steve (Deb) Eickstaedt of Long Grove; grandchildren, Nichol (John) Fogle, Amber DeFrates, Melissa (Chad) Huston, Doug (Allison) DeFrates, and Lindsay (Peter) Erickson; and12 great grandchildren with 1 on the way. Arlene was also a grandma to 2 great-great grandsons.

Arlene is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Nan; and a great granddaughter, Jordan.
