CLARK, Ruby Alice (Topping) - It is with great sadness that the Clark family announces the passing of our treasured mother, grandmother and great grandmother on May 28, 2019. Ruby Clark was born on August 07, 1934 and was predeceased by her husband and best friend of 58 years, Bud Clark. Ruby was predeceased by parents Laverne and Alice Topping and sisters Dorothy (Archie) Pedden and Doris (Bill) Denning of Strathroy, Ontario. Ruby is survived by her daughter Sally (Ross) MacIntosh of Stellarton, sons Jeffrey (Louise) of Edmonton, Gary (Donna) of Halifax and daughter Alison (Walter) Lenny of London, Ontario. She was the very proud grandmother of Kaitlyn (Corey), Jonathan (Rachel), Lauren (Ryan) Jason, Adam, Brandon, Alicia, Elizabeth and great grandmother to Clark, Brock, James and Henry. Bud and Ruby met in London, Ontario and were married on September 25, 1954. They became the proud parents of Sally, Jeff, Gary and Alison while living in London, Kitchener and Burlington, Ontario. In 1973 Ruby, Bud and family transferred to Nova Scotia as Bud became the Atlantic Canada District Sales Manager for General Electric. Ruby and Bud were devoted parents and were very supportive of their children’s many endeavors. There were many wonderful family events including time at Lake Ella, Lake Torment, camping adventures and many other joyous, memorable celebrations. Bud and Ruby both enjoyed curling, playing bridge and travelling to exciting destinations. They also frequently travelled across Canada visiting family and friends. Many winters were spent on the Gulf Coast of Florida enjoying friends and hosting family. Ruby spent a number of years warmly greeting visitors to Nova Scotia as a volunteer of the Tartan Team at the Halifax International Airport. She was active in the Dartmouth school system for many years assisting special needs children. She also created unique crafts that she shared with family and friends. Ruby loved spending time with people, whether she was contributing to a community cause or enjoying good times with her many friends. She enthusiastically made new acquaintances at home or during her numerous travel adventures. Ruby lived her life full of purpose, love, compassion and integrity. We will all deeply miss her warm generous hospitality and words of wisdom and encouragement. Cremation has taken place. At Ruby’s request there will be no visitation or formal service. A private family interment will be held at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Ruby can be made to the Woodlawn United Church or another charity of your choice. A celebration of Ruby’s life will be held at the Austenville Owl’s Club on Friday August 09 from 7:00 – 10:00 pm. Online condolences may be viewed or sent to: www.mattatallfuneralhome.com
