BEHAN, Reginald P. – 77, of Halifax, passed away peacefully with his loving daughter by his side in the Q E II Victoria General Site on April 18, 2016. Born in Tuft’s Cove he was the son of the late Roy and Annie (Brown) Behan. Reg was an avid sports enthusiast, especially watching and cheering on his children and grandchildren and his unwavering support of his Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. Growing up he played baseball as well as coached in the Westphal/Port Wallace league. Reg enjoyed spending time with his family and friends on vacations and weekend camping trips, playing cards and board games, quiet moments playing his harmonica, and loved his wife and family dearly. His most endearing quality was his love, devotion, and commitment to his wife Jean from when they met in their early teens until her passing after her battle with ALS. He is survived by his loving daughter; Lynn (Dale), Lake Echo, grandchildren; Jake, Luke, Justin and Jordan, sisters; Joan Felix and Marguerite McKenzie. He was predeceased by his loving wife; Jean, son; Stephen, brothers; Earl and Ralph, sister; Rhoda Chapman. A memorial service will take place at 2pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in the Penthouse at Northwood Centre, 2615 Northwood Terrace, Halifax. Father Paul Mac Intosh officiating. Burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Lung Association, V O N or to the A L S Association.
