96, went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2023. Born in Dartmouth, he was the son of the late Roy and Winnifred (Spencer) Dillman. He married Betty Parks, the love of his life, in 1955.
Ralph spent 42 years working for Imperial Oil, at the Dartmouth refinery and on assignment with Esso Libya, which was a wonderful adventure for the family. They lived in a desert community, close to the Mediterranean Sea and took many trips to Europe and the Near East.
Ralph was a long-time member of Northbrook Bible Chapel, where he served the Lord faithfully, preferring to remain behind the scenes. His wisdom, humility, integrity, and quiet caring were admired by those who knew him and those lucky enough to know him well enjoyed his dry sense of humour and fierce loyalty. He was the ultimate handyman who could fix just about anything and an avid photographer who has left a rich photo chronicle of the family’s history.
Ralph was a devoted family man. He is survived by sons, Roy (Kelly); Brian (Janice); and daughters, Dawn (Geoff) Aikens, and Lisa, all of Dartmouth. He was the grandfather of Michelle, Lori, Jason, Scott, Matthew, Carrie, Daryl, Kim and Luke and the great-grandfather of twelve.
He was predeceased by his wife of almost 58 years, Elizabeth (Parks), brother Guy, and sister Dorothy (Eisener).
There will be no visitation. Memorial service will be held on Friday August 4, 2023 at 11:00 am at Northbrook Bible Chapel, Dartmouth. Reception to follow. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the charity of choice. The family would like to thank the staff of Jamieson Hall at Parkland At The Lakes and the VON for their care.
