Marion Pennington

PENNINGTON, Marion – age 94 of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2016 in the Dartmouth General Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Wilmslow, England, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice Elizabeth (Woodgate) Walker. Marion immigrated to Canada in 1947 on the RMS Aquitania with her two little girls joining her husband in Montreal. They moved to Dartmouth in 1949 residing in the same house for over 67 years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, walking her dog Rosie in the park. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family, making the best cookies in town. She is survived by her sons; Brian (Margarete) of Lake Echo, Stephen of Dartmouth, daughters; Stella (Rae) Smith of Sackville, Margaret (Aris) Mastrapas of Halifax, grandchildren; Sean (Jennifer), Leigh (Laurie), Susie (Dennis), Birgitt (Nelson), Georgina (Jimmy), Billy (Vickie), great grandchildren; Aidan, Terrilynn, Abbie, Sophie, Poppy, Jorja, Aris, Yanni and Aris. She was predeceased by her loving husband; Leonard and brother; Kenneth. There will be a private family graveside service at a later date.
