Kyle grew up in Lake Echo and Dartmouth. Kyle was the beloved son of Claudia
and Randy Currie (Dartmouth) and Andrew Blakeney / Carolyn Moir Blakeney (Fall River).
In his mid-twenties Kyle announced he was going to become a firefighter. After his
training, Kyle became a member of the Halifax Regional Fire department, a career
and life choice that suited his personality. Kyle was an expert and talented skier,
downhill mountain biker and wake boarder. He was known for his charm, incredible
sense of humor, love of animals, “fashion sense”, and loyalty to his friends. He had
a deep love of music. He leaves behind his twin brother Chris, his parents (Claudia/
Randy, Andy/Carolyn), Grandma Joyce, aunts/uncles and cousins, his firefighter
brotherhood, and a large community of caring friends. “He was everyones number 1
fan. He had a way of making people feel awesome. He gave me the belief I was
greater than I thought… He was so humble. … I carry that today as it translates
from bikes to life …”. – Luke D. Kyle enjoyed helping with the Parker Street Food
Bank Christmas dinner program, and was a great supporter of World Vision Charity.
