79, of Dartmouth, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family at the Halifax Infirmary at noon on Thursday, July 16, 2015.
Born November 30, 1935 in Halifax, Kay was the cherished daughter of Lloyd and Agnes Hubley (Duffey). Kay was an active and treasured member of the Dartmouth Senior Citizen’s club. Kay enjoyed participating in the Nova Scotia Senior Games as a scrabble contestant for several years, for which she has received numerous awards.
Kay was a food service manager for over forty years. Her family and friends were the recipients of her delicious chow and pickles.
Kay had a calm and caring demeanor, always ready with a smile. Quiet and reserved, Kay enjoyed reading novels, music, her soaps and game shows daily. Kay relished in spending quality time with her family and friends.
Kay is predeceased by her parents, Lloyd and Agnes Hubley (Duffey); her sisters, Shirley Bruce and Cecillia Fralick (Tootsie); her first husband, Edward Bayliss, her second husband, Cyril Patterson; and her son, Brad Bayliss.
Kay is survived by her children, Edward Bayliss (Duke), Martin Bayliss (wife Carol), Blair Bayliss (wife Kathryn), Kathleen Bayliss-Byrne (husband Mike) and Timothy Bayliss.
Kay is survived by her grandchildren, Amanda, Chelsea (great-grandchildren Hunter and Aiden), Alexander, Taylor, Jessica, Macey, Tara Bayliss, and Jeffrey and Kelsie Byrne.
Kay is survived by her sisters, Joan Fredericks and Geraldine Graham, and brother-in-law Reginald Fralick.
There will be no visitation, but condolences can be made at the memorial service to be held at 6p.m. Tuesday, July 21st at the A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St. Dartmouth, NS.
