My deepest sympathy on your mother's death.
Karen and I first met at CGIT Leaders' Council, and later we bonded as two mature professionals who had felt the call of God to the Christian ministry. We became friends, and corresponded through the years, as well as at CGIT Mayflower Alumni.
Karen was a wonderful, truly Christian woman who gave freely of herself to others. She had a great sense of humour, and fought her battle against Parkinson's with faith and courage.
She will be missed.

The loss of your mother has touched many lives.  Rev Karen was an individual who lived her faith and it touched everyone she met. She will be missed.

Karen was a friend of mine from high school days in Dartmouth.
We renewed our friendship in later years, as I reconnected with her at Maritime Conference, singing together with her and John in the choir there.  When she was ordained and moved to St. Croix,  I was so glad to be living in the area and able to spend time with her again. She was a wonderful minister and very much loved by her congregations. 
I know these last years have been very difficult for both her and the family. May she and John rest in peace together. Prayers for comfort and peace also for all her family . May your memories of her love for you bring strength and comfort.

I am grateful for her attentive care for my husband and me when we began to worship at St Matthew's and for witnessing her courage and endurance as she suffered Parkinson's. Karen's grounded nature was enhanced by her fun sense of humour and a kind concern for others.

It was with great sadness that I read the news of Karen’s death.  Although, I never worked with Karen - our last names being at opposite ends of the alphabet - I remember her cheery nature and always being greeted with a smile. But I especially remember that at all of our reunions, Karen would show up in her Probie uniform - always the proud nurse.  
	We will feel her loss whenever we are able to meet again

I have such great memories of working alongside Karen in La Leche League Canada.  She was Area Coordinator for Atlantic Canada at that time. We had a number of meetings and here is a photo of one from Sept 1991, Karen in centre, red blazer.  And she gave me a love coaster with the NS national flower and I still use that and remember her fondly. 

My condolence to Karen family . I had the pleasure working  with Karen  in the operating room at the Victoria General Hospital . As a new graduated she was a great  role model and took her role seriously, as well dedicated to her profession.   RIP Karen

It was with great sadness that I read of Karen's death.  I first met  Karen at Dartmouth High School - my home was on the way to school.  We were not close friends but were always happy to see each other over the years as we were both in nursing and we were always able to pick up.  I was impressed to learn that she had entered the ministry and met her a few years later after she had and one could tell how enthused she was about this calling - it went with her caring nature as had nursing.  I am sorry to learn that John had predeceased her - I know he was a wonderful support and care giver for her she were her sons.  With my very sincere condolences and prayers.  

Karen was the first person I met when I arrived on campus to register for my first course at AST. As a mature student, who was still working, I had missed the day time orientation, so I had no idea where to go. Karen's warm welcome and hospitality made those first few minutes less intimidating and I was delighted to find her in my classes! We graduated and were ordained together. 

I have many fond memories of Karen and John from the many car rallies in which they were involved. One of my fondest was the Spud rally in PEI during checkpoints which were part picnics for the kids who were brought along and played with their outside toys while waiting for cars to arrive and receive their time . My sincerest sympathy to Ian and Lorne and family.

I first met Karen and John Pearce when, as a teenager, I joined the Choir at St Matthew's United Church. They were both so kind and warm hearted. I have fond memories of singing tenor next to Karen's alto voice, and how much fun she was.  I recall also their wonderful Volvos and how well maintained they were! Remembering John and Karen with much gratitude and affection. I feel incredibly thankful to have known them both.

Karen was a friend for many years and I had the privilege of working with her as part of La Leche League Canada in Atlantic Canada. She inspired me to become  a Leader when I met her in 1977 and I continue supporting breastfeeding families and Leaders to this day. Our road trips together to LLL events were always  a great time.  John was so dedicated to her and her  ambitions and they made a great team raising you, Ian and Lorne. I saw her several years ago in Dartmouth and she raved about you both and your children of course  . Blessings to all .

Karen was a wonderful combination of wisdom and kindness and dedication.  I knew Karen from La Leche League.  Even though her roots were in Dartmouth and Halifax and I lived in Montreal, we worked together for many years to help mothers and babies.  My heart goes out to Ian and Lorne and their families.  May Karen's memory be for a blessing.

I am so sorry for your family's loss .Karen was our mother's first cousin and although we were younger I always remember her kindness and her smile. I'm very sorry that Dorothy has lost another sister..

I met Karen several years ago at UC Conference, Sackville NB. Some how we just ‘clicked’ and I looked forward to seeing her every year. She was a kindred spirit and always an ear and friend.  I shall always miss her smile and fleeting companionship.

I could write a book about my memories of Karen. She has been a close friend since before the loss of our son Stephen, 15 years ago this month. I was strengthened by her faith and support, then and many times since. It has been so hard not to see her this past year. 
   We have shared tears and laughter during these years. I know all who grew to love her since she first arrived at St Croix Pastoral Charge will also say the same. After we returned to Dartmouth, she and John welcomed us on our moving day, such a pleasant surprise.
    Almost every Sunday, John and Karen picked me up on their way to St Matthews, where I was able to observe, the love and friendships they shared with the wonderful people there. It was a blessing they shared with me.
     The past year has been, for all of us I know, beyond description, and I have missed her dearly, but this morning's news has been the worst I have had in years.
  My love and prayers go to Ian and Lorne and their families. Diane and Barry Chase
