Adler (Arsenault) Joseph Adelard-90, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 12, 2012 at Camphill Veteran’s Memorial Hospital. Born in Rogersville, NB., he was the son of the late Jean and Alice (Martin) Arseneu. Joseph served with the West Nova Scotia Highlanders in WW II in the Provo Corp. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Dartmouth Rotary Club, the Nova Scotia Home Builders Association, as well as the Brick Layers-Masons & Plasterers International of America. Joseph was an Atlantic Home Warranty building contractor for over 58 years, building thousands of homes, apartment buildings, warehouses, and churches. From 1950-2008 his career took him from Nova Scotia to Alberta, California and back to Nova Scotia. He is survived by his special friend, Eleanor Harding of Dartmouth; sons, John Adler of Edmonton, AB, Tony Brake of Lac la Biche, AB, Gregory Arsenault of Halifax; daughter, Sheila Gosse Jones of Corner Brook, NL; brother, Randy Arsenault (Jean) of New Glasgow; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Agnes LeBlanc, Mary Boucher and Leona Comeau; brother, Joe Vic Arsenault. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 18 from 2-4 and 6-8pm in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. Memorial service will take place on Thursday at 11am from the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made the Alzheimer’s Society.
