DAVISON, Ernest Kenneth “Ernie” of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2011 at the Dartmouth General Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Halifax, Ernie was the son of the late Tena Irene Davison. He began his career with the Nova Scotia Trust Company on September 8, 1947 as a Junior Clerk and retired as a Senior Vice President from Central Guaranty Trust Company in 1992. He was a past President of the Halifax Executives Association, a member of the Ashburn Golf Club and a former social member of the Halifax Curling Club. Ernie enjoyed a game of golf and was a baseball fan having played and coached as a young man and then went on to coach his children’s teams. He got his greatest pleasure in whatever his children were doing. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy (Nichols), his children Gregory (Nichola McKay), Montrose, B.C., Stephen (Karen Munroe), Timberlea, N.S., Kathryn (Bob Boyce), Saint John, N.B., grandchildren, Alec Davison and James Davison, niece, Brenda Rogers, Ottawa. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his brother, Marshal Irwin Davison and his nephew, Wayne Davison. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 7-9pm Thursday, December 1 in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth, where a memorial service will be held 2pm Friday, December 2, Stephen Fram officiating, reception to follow.
