86, passed away on March 2, 2017 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Broadlands, QC, daughter of the late Hanibal and Ida (Furlotte) Hoar. She moved to Montreal at an early age and commenced a 16-year career with the Royal Bank. During this time she met and married her loving husband, Elwyn “Red”. Over the years and, in addition to Montreal, they lived in Halifax, Dartmouth and St. John’s, NL. She is survived by daughters, Heather (Bernard) Martin, St. John’s and Brenda Everett, Toronto; sisters, Avis Cole, Mary (Robert) Stokes and Carol (Ian) Mann; brothers, Vernon (Judy) Hoar and Hollis Hoar. Predeceased by sisters Lois Fisher and Ferne Collis as well as brother, Stephen Hoar. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and golf as a member of Bally Haly, St. John’s and Brightwood. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6th from 2-5pm in A L Mattatall Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 7th at 2pm in Christ Church, Ochterloney St, Dartmouth.
