

Brandenberger, Doris Regina – 82 of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2014 in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Bern, Switzerland, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Maria Brandenberger. Doris spent her career as an accountant and chose to make her home in Nova Scotia when she became a Swiss-Can in 1994. She enjoyed the ocean, nature and animals. She was an avid listener of music and the opera. Doris travelled widely in Europe, Canada, as well as the United States. She was a conversant in many languages. She would always contribute to her favourite charities. She is survived by her dear friend Shirley Matthews and family; nephews Markus Weidmann, Costa Rica; Dr. Bernhard Weidmann and Simon Weidmann, both of Switzerland as well as many cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Ruth. Cremation has taken place under the care of A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held 12 pm Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 10 Maple Street, with Father James Richards officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Christ Church Food Bank, 61 Dundas Street or the Diabetes Society of Nova Scotia.
