MORRISEY, Margaret ”Donna” Lee (McMaster) – 67, of Dartmouth. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear sweet mother after a brief battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Donald and Margaret “Maisy” (Arsenault) McMaster. She is survived by her husband of near 50 years Daniel Morrisey, daughters Karla, Lisa, and son Dwayne (Tasha) Morrisey. She is also survived by her sisters Faye (Jack) MacDonald, Suzanne (Paul) Handley, Pamela (Bruce) Wamback, Carolyn (Kevin) Murphy, brothers Donald (Julie) McMaster, Allen (Judy) McMaster. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Hailey, Liam, Daniel, Brady, Caedon, Hunter, Kristina, Ethan, and Maddy, Brayden and great grandchildren Zayden, Greyson, Amira and Kyrah. She was predeceased by her infant grandson Cameron. She retired from Moirs Chocolates after more than 20 years and went on to volunteer at Humber Park Elementary School; and later taking a full time position as a teaching assistant. To Donna family was her everything and she lived to spend every minute with them. She took great joy and pride in all the many accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donna lived to help others, it was the core of her existence and this was evident in the hours she spent selflessly helping family, friends and her community. An active participant in the Relay For Life with family team Keep Hope Alive for many years, Donna spent countless hours fundraising for the Canadian Cancer Society. She spent endless hours knitting dish cloths to raise funds for Relay and her latest project was knitting comfort blankets for Hospice. The idea of spending an entire evening with her family doing the things she loved most (laughing, loving, eating, and helping) always seemed an easy decision. Helping is just who Donna was. And from the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank Aunt Pam for her unwavering care for her beloved sister through her entire journey – we couldn’t have done this without you. In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation to a charity of your choice. But more importantly, if you wish to honor Donna, spend valuable time with your loved ones making precious memories as she did. If you were her friend you were a friend for life. And to be loved by Donna was the greatest gift in the world. Due to gathering limitations as a result of Covid restrictions, a Celebration of Donna’s Life will be held – attendance will be invitation only. Proof of full vaccination, along with government issued ID, are mandatory to attend indoor funeral services for those age 12 and older. Masks are required.
