Born in Hitchin, in England's North Hertfordshire District, Dave first came to Canada as a Royal Air Force avionics technician at the RAF Base in Goose Bay, Labrador, where he met and married the love of his life.
After retiring from the RAF, David immigrated permanently to Canada in 1973, where he had a long successful career in aviation and labour relations, with Eastern Provincial Airways, Canadian Airlines and Air Canada. He later joined the Halifax office of the Canada Industrial Relations Board, retiring in 2012.
In his retirement, Dave became an avid creator of carved wood sculptures and ornaments and enjoyed travelling the world with Jo.
A celebration of life will be held in late spring or early summer 2024 in Stephenville Crossing, Newfoundland. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
