Barbara was born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, to Walter and Bertha Ormon on the 26th of April 1934. She went to Kings-Edgehill School, the oldest private school in Canada, in Windsor, Nova Scotia, and after her graduation, she went on to work as an X-Ray Technician in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
She enjoyed an eclectic array of music, her most favorite being classical, and she shared her sharp wit and intelligence, along with her great sense of perception and humour, with so many people in her life’s journey. Barbara was always instantly liked by everyone, who could immediately sense that she took a sincere interest in them, and she really cared about them.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Bertha; her brother, George Walter; her daughter, Barbara Alison, and her husband, Floyd Keith.
Barbara is survived by her two sons, Ian Floyd of Cambridge, Ontario, and Darren Andrew of Ottawa, Ontario; daughter, Brenda Pearl of Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia; six grandchildren, Liam, Jacob, Joshua, Kyle, Taylor, and Alyssa.
As per Barbara’s wishes, there will be a private family burial and donations in lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to St Andrew’s Anglican Church in Dartmouth or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
The family wishes to especially extend their profound gratitude to the Saint Vincent’s Nursing Home, Halifax, Nova Scotia, for their professional care and wonderful support in her final days.
