Age 65, of Dartmouth, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 10, 2014 at home. Born in Burin, Newfoundland, he was the son of the late Herbert and Mildred Reardon. He is survived by his wife Iris Peeples; daughter Megan Reardon and son-in-law, David Lowe, Ottawa; brother, Kevin Reardon, Calgary; sister, Sheila Leblanc, Harley, ON; and several nephews and nieces. Al worked for 32 years as a federal government employee in Halifax and Dartmouth. He was an avid member of the Brightwood Golf Club for over 20 years and a generous civic supporter of local artistic, cultural and tourism events. Curling was his latest passion and he was a member of the Dartmouth Curling Club for many years and it’s President from 2009-2010. He applied his handy man skills at home and in the community. Past times also included photography and walking the trails in Shubie Park. A celebration of his life will be held at A.L Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth, on Friday January 17 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of your choice.
