Maximino Gonzalez, 82, of Fall River, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at St. Anne’s Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of Ana (Grullon) Gonzalez with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.
Born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, a son of the late Armando Gonzalez and Julia Dolores (Fernandez) Gonzalez.
He came to the United States 40 years ago and established a residence in New York City where he raised his family. He moved to Fall River, MA 12 years ago.
While in New York City, Mr. Gonzalez owned and operated the restaurant, Caridad, where he cooked Spanish cuisines.
Maximino was known as a social butterfly and loved spending time with his loving family and friends. He enjoyed listening to music and dancing. He and his family enjoyed getting together for new year’s eve celebrations and to watch boxing and baseball.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his six children, Prandy Gonzalez, Frederic Gonzalez, Aneudy Neo Gonzalez, Esq., Ana L. Gonzalez, Ana Y. Gonzalez, and Julia Dolores Gonzalez; eighteen grandchildren and one on the way; one great-grandchild and another one on the way; several brothers; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister and several brothers.
Private services are in the care of Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth.
