She was the daughter of the late Edith (Carlson) Horberg and Charles August Horberg. She was predeceased by her husband Theodore Turosky and 9 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
Olga was born on her family homestead in New Fairfield, CT. She attended a one room school house and graduated from Danbury High School in 1939. She married Theodore November 9, 1940.
She was a head cook for The Barden Corporation for 26 ½ years and was known to her co-workers as Ollie. She was known for her delicious wine gravy and her friendliness.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting doilies and afghans, camping and family activities. She had a passion for playing cards, drinking wine and eating oatmeal cookies.
She leaves behind her daughters, Patricia (Turosky) Losito and Marlene (Turosky) Beatty. five grandchildren: Richard Warner, Dawn (Warner) Fawcett, Lynele Wright, Patrick Beatty, Laura Beatty. eight great grandchildren: Kristin, Patrick, Joshua, Alexis, Adam, Annalena Danika, and Bristol. one great great grandchild: Zac. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at a memorial gathering on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 11:00am – 1:00 pm at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT. A memorial service will take place in the funeral home at 1:00pm. Burial will take place immediately following at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 73 Lake Ave. Ext. Danbury. A celebration of Life will be held from 2:30pm – 4:30 pm at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 95 Greenwood Ave, Bethel, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lions Club of Danbury or St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Bethel, CT.
