Lucy is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Critelli O’Connell and her husband, Peter, of Fairfield, CT; her son, Frank Critelli, Jr., of Danbury; and by her grandson, Peter F. O’Connell and his wife, Cristine O’Connell and their son, Vincenzo James O’Connell, age 9 months of the Bronx, NY. Lucy is also survived by her sister, Concetta Burdo Negri of Danbury, and several nieces and nephews.
Lucy Burdo Critelli was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up with her two sisters under the care of their widowed mother, Jennie Burdo.
After marrying, Lucy moved to Danbury and became a partner in business with her late husband. Frank and Lucy were co-owners of the White Street Plaza in Danbury and Lucy was an active manager of the Plaza.
Lucy and Frank Critelli were active parishioners of St. Joseph’s Church in Danbury where Lucy was a member of the Ladies Guild of the parish for years. In her later years Lucy was a resident of Hancock Hall in Danbury where she participated daily in all activities and was voted senior advocate by the residents.
Lucy was always interested in local news and read the Danbury news on a daily basis. Her days at Hancock Hall were filled with activities. She especially liked bowling where she won many trophies, and bingo. She especially enjoyed playing poker on Fridays and won most of the times.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, June 5, 2020 at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, CT with the Rev. David Franklin, Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Church in Danbury, officiating.
Due to cemetery regulations and state requirements, those attending are asked to remain in their cars.
