Ms. Juliann Barabas Miller, 87, of Brookfield, CT, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017 at St. Pope John Paul Center in Danbury, CT surrounded by her family. Juliann is survived by her daughter Teresa Miller Kondrat and her three children, Brittany Julianna Kondrat who shares a birthday with Juliann, Ryan Michael Kondrat and John Patrick Kondrat of Brookfield, CT. Juliann is also survived by her favorite sister Mary Barabas Vitale of Jupiter, FL, her very special niece Maria Vitale Riedmiller of Delaware, OH and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Theresa Barabas, five older brothers; Andrew, Paul, John, Joseph and Steven (Barabas), three older sisters; Elizabeth Bassett, Theresa Castro and Barbara Castro and her son Louis F. Andreko.
Juliann was born on December 30, 1929 in Pennsylvania. She was the youngest child of Andrew and Theresa Barabas and after moving to Connecticut Juliann worked for many years at Castro Convertibles as a seamstress. Juliann started her own business making drapes, curtains and bedspreads and did an amazing job reupholstering furniture. She had a very strong faith as a Roman Catholic. Her love for her family showed no bounds and she did whatever she could when they needed her. She loved animals but mostly dogs which she had a number of throughout her whole life. She was tough and stubborn at times with a strong yet compassionate personality. She loved vacationing in Rhode Island and had quite the green thumb. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she loved Christmas trees and even planted many evergreen trees in her yard.
She will be greatly missed by those she left behind, but after life she is surrounded by her loved ones as well. Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Green Funeral Home in Danbury.
