Joseph V. “Joe” Molinaro, Sr. passed away peacefully on February 12, 2019 in Danbury, CT. He was born on September 10, 1940 and was the eldest child of Dominick and Louise (Recine) Molinaro. Joe was a lifelong Danbury resident graduating from DHS in 1958 where he was elected “Most Mischievous.”
In 1965, after a brief courtship, Joe eloped with the love of his life and spent the next 54 years in a perpetual state of wedded bliss. It’s true, ask anyone. Along the way he raised 2 children, served in the National Guard, travelled extensively, and ultimately retired from his position as Assistant Superintendent of Public Buildings for the City of Danbury. Joe was most well-known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and just plain inability to take anything or anyone seriously.
Along with his wife, Kathleen, Joe is survived by his children: Joseph V. Molinaro, Jr of
Pawcatuck and Mary Comstock (Tom) of Danbury; his grandchildren: Gina (Bill), Hannah, T.J.,
and great-grandson, Gregory; his brother, Richard; nieces: Kristi, Jennifer, and Maureen; greatnieces:
Jada, Ava, and Brie; great-nephew, Jett and countless cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury. Friends will be received from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research
Hospital, 5-1 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a Danbury-based charity of your choice.
