John (Jack)J. Malloy, 87, of New Fairfield, CT and former resident of Brewster, New York passed away peacefully by the side of his daughter after a courageous fight with Alzheimer's disease on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019. He was the husband of Marie (McDonnell) Malloy and father of Gerri (Michael) Broderick of New Fairfield.
Jack was born and raised in New York, NY and proudly served in the Navy during the Korean conflict. He continued to serve in the Naval Reserves through most of his life. Jack was honored to serve in the New York Guard and even briefly served in the recovery efforts following 9/11. He retired as an electrician from Metro North Railroad in 1997 to serve in his fondest job, grandfather to his beloved three grandchildren.
His kind heart and generous spirit will be missed by his wife Marie and his family. In addition to his partner Marie of 55 years, Jack leaves behind his daughter Gerri and his cherished son in law Michael Broderick, in addition to his adoring grandchildren Katie, Jack and Shannon Broderick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield. Interment will be private.
