On October 7th, 2014, due to unforeseen events, a truly incredible young boy's life left us way too soon. Born December 4th, 2006, James Patrick McGowan leaves behind his parents Patrick and Sylvie McGowan, paternal grandparents James and Teresa McGowan, maternal grandparents Henry and Anna Sirois, the Buckley, Ellis, Knapp, Saviano, Barrett, and Estores families; as well as, an enormous community of friends, and other loved ones.
James was a thriving 7 year old, 2nd grader full of life, love and an excitement for adventure. He had a joy for slot car racing, basketball, video games and an evident passion for singing and a flare for interpretive dance. James wound himself into the hearts of many through his charismatic attitude, and empathetic personality. His infectious laugh and extraordinary imagination never failed to leave a smile on the faces of everyone he encountered. Though his life may have been short in terms of years; he undoubtedly left an impact on the lives of many that will forever leave a mark.
Due to his tremendous love and compassion for others James donated his organs in order to continue his service and generosity to others. Or as James would have put it, “it’s the least I could do."
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield, on Saturday morning at 10am. Interment will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Bethel. Friends may call at The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on Friday from 2pm-4pm and 5pm-8pm.
