George was born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late George S., and Natalie Kazura Kazlauskas. He attended PS122 in Brooklyn and was a 1967 graduate of Boys High in Brooklyn. He went to Queens College in 1978 where he majored in Communications.
George enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1967 where he served in Vietnam and received the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal with 4*, Gallantry Cross with Palm & Frame, and Riffle Marksman Badge. He was honorably discharged in 1970 and transferred to the Reserves until 1973.
George was an elevator mechanic / inspector all around New York for over 40 years.
He loved growing up in the City where he would bike ride through the streets and parks. He enjoyed being physically fit by playing tennis, skiing, jogging, swimming and cycling. His love for animals, music and American History was shared with his friends and family.
George was predeceased by a sister, Christine Kazlauskas.
In addition to his wife of 27 years, survivors include his brother, Steven Kazlauskas and his wife Linda, his son Taylor Kazlauskas and his wife Annie, and granddaughter Peyton Kazlauskas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday, February 27, 2023 at St. Joseph Church, Danbury with the Rev. Samuel V. Scott, Pastor, officiting.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received from 1:00pm-4:00pm on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury.
