Faye E. Cawley, a lifetime resident of Danbury, passed away at her home on February 15, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 75 years old. Faye was born March 22, 1938 in Danbury, CT, the daughter of the late Carmen and Theresa (Wood) Melillo.
She was a graduate of Danbury High School, and the American School of Hairdressing. She was a hairdresser at Melillo Hairstylist, and also worked for Kelly Services at Risdon. She worked in the family business at Melillo Flower shop, and was the owner and proprietor of the 7-11 in Bethel until her retirement. Most of all her she enjoyed raising her three children.
Faye was a kind and caring woman who will be greatly missed by all. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband James H. Cawley in 2008. She is survived by her children and their spouses, James Cawley and his wife Judy of Brookfield, Lori DeBiase and her husband Joe of New Milford, Christopher Cawley and his wife Deborah of New Milford, one brother Robert Melillo and his wife Susan of New Fairfield, a sister Donna Osiecki and her husband Chet of New Fairfield, also survived by six grandchildren Brandon, Bryan, Gayla, James, Samantha, Nicholas, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury on Wednesday from 5-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Thursday 10:30 am. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. The family would like contributions to be made in Faye’s name to Regional Hospice of Western CT, 39 Old Ridgebury Rd., Danbury CT 06810.
