Eileen was born in New York, NY February 21, 1937, the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Fogarty) McSweeney. She was employed as a case worker for the State of Connecticut Department of Children and Families for 30 years. Eileen was a parishioner of Saint Gregory the Great Church, Danbury, and was a 35 year member of the Danbury Grange.
Eileen is survived by her sons: Robert Doherty of New Fairfield, Christopher Doherty and his wife Karen of New Fairfield, and David Magazzi of New Fairfield, two grandchildren: Siobhan L. Doherty and Conor R. Doherty, one brother: Dennis McSweeney, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eileen was predeceased by her daughter Maureen T. Doherty, and her brother, Thomas (Mickey) McSweeney.
A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday August 21st at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury from 11:00am to 2:00pm. A prayer service will take place in the funeral home at 2:00pm.
